Alice Feichtinger Nursing
Alice Feichtinger is a former Ridgewater College nursing instructor. Alice served as a nurse for many years before starting her career at Ridgewater as a college lab assistant. She later moved into teaching and worked with students for 25 years. Alice’s goal in teaching was to cultivate well-rounded nurses who not only understood the technical skills of nursing, but the art of the work as well. She said, “People will always remember how you made them feel… as nurses, it’s our mission is to leave them feeling better.” She practiced the same principles as an instructor and left her students feeling confident, empowered, and inspired. This scholarship has been established in Alice’s name by her former student, Shannon Larson. Shannon, now a Nurse Practitioner, is grateful for the support and encouragement Alice provided her during her time at Ridgewater College and beyond. The award goes to a non-traditional Nursing student on the Willmar campus.
