Diane M. Hagedorn Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Diane began her career as a Nursing Assistant at just 16 years old. Over the years, she pursued her passion for helping others by becoming a Medical Assistant, a Licensed Practical Nurse, and ultimately a Registered Nurse through Ridgewater College. Her life’s work was rooted in compassion, whole-person care, and a deep dedication to the often overlooked geriatric population. Diane served as a Director of Nurses, mentor, and educator—always leading with heart. She believed excellence in nursing went beyond clinical tasks; it was about building connections, offering comfort, sharing joy, and making sure each person felt truly seen and valued, especially in their later years. This scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Diane. It is intended to support non-traditional students who, like Diane once did, may be balancing work, school, and family while answering the call to become a registered nurse.
